The year five kit car team of Goonhavern School Cornwall designed and built the dual battery powered ‘green goblin’kit car for the championships and trials held at Newquay Tretherras School in July 2008. This film follows the Goonhavern team and covers the second final heat of the Enduro race which involved school teams from Goonhavern, Perranporth, Newquay and St Columb minor. The Newquay Juniors team driving ‘Chough’ ran out the impressive overall winners ahead of The Bishops School Newquay, who won the first final. Goonhavern School picked up the prize for the best car design.

I converted this Aztec 7 kit car to all electric drive. It is a fiberglass kit installed on a Karman Ghia chassis. There was a lot of restoration and modification to the original donor car, which was 80% of the work. The car shold go as fast as 85 mph and have a range of ~50 miles on a charge, once the 120V of golf cart batteries are broken in.
