Electric Car Motor Kit

The general public today are considering doing an electric vehicle motor conversion because of the definitely continuous oil price hikes that we are faced with. Apart from the rising fuel prices, carbon-based fuels are starting to become depleted and the environment is also slowly disintegrating due to big carbon emissions from cars which make a contribution to global temperature rises.

electric automobiles are dissimilar from gasoline-powered autos apropos their sources of power. Gasoline-powered automobiles, from the name itself, are powered by petrol. These standard automobiles have a petrol engine which is replaced by an electrical motor in electric vehicles. The electric motor is perhaps the single most critical part of the electric car. There are essentially two main types of motors for the electric vehicle conversion – the AC and the DC conversion systems.

The basic electric vehicle conversion kit includes a motor, a battery, and a control mechanism. The batteries can be charged using the energy generated by the original engine of the car or by plugging the automobile in a fresh wall outlet.

The idea of retrofitting your existing car to run on electricity is a reasonably straightforward process, which involves the removal of the internal combustion engine in order for it to be replaced with an electrical motor. Since the engine is gone, all the connecting or associated components like the gas tank, fuel lines, radiator, fuel pump, and exhaust pipe are to be removed as well . The motor is connected directly to the existing transmission unit. A chain of deep cycle batteries are used to power the electrical motor. To supply enough power to the motor, ten to fifteen units of lead acid batteries could be required.

Performing an electric car motor conversion is not that tricky. You can always refer to electric vehicle kits to give you the right procedures and complete electrical car conversion instructions.

Question by CaliforniaKonfused: Where can i find a powerful electric car conversion kit? or @ least a decent one?
Ive seen a lot of the conversion kits online and they suck. The car will barely go 60mph and they last for about 50 miles. Now if the Tesla Roadster can go about 125mph and last for 250 miles why cant I make one @ least half as good. This guy does http://www.coolgreencar.net/ He converts Porches Buses almost anything. I’m planning on getting a decent kit and upgrading to Lithium’s& an AC motor but id like to skip a few middle men and @ least start out with something that’s worth it.

It is the dollar figure. Tesla costs a fair coin. These Porches also cost fair coin as you will find out “batteries are extra” costing more than the car. Read the wording like a lawyer would. Nowhere does it state that the car will do that on electric power. It talks about simplicity and precision of the car(a standard Porche) and that it has won many rallies(again a standard gas guzzling Porche). Then it talks about batteries and their costs(bypassing the output of an EV motor-hp or speeds).
And you don’t need to go faster than 60mph, unless you were on a racetrack.
Sorry, still gas.

Question by Exorcist: Is there any electric hybrid kits for a normal car?
If not where would the application be the most feasible?
A special rim that just bolts on any wheel thats an electric motor that charges as well as produces power at low speeds.
That costs under 3000 bux and uses flexable gel cells to store anywhere.
Give me a great hybrid conversion kit idea for 10 points…
