Question by Knucklehead: What is the best ultra-capacitor/battery conversion kits available?
I am interested in converting my 1993 Honda Accord into an electric car. I’ve been searching online for a kit and don’t know which one is best. I want it to use ultra-capacitor/battery technology. I am seriously wanting to end our countries dependence of oil.

Most kits use the cheapest methods and parts to keep costs down. I’m not saying that they have low quality, but of the alternatives they will tend to the least expensive one.
You are looking to do a higher end conversion and I don’t know of anybody is supplying full kits. The Honda this guy http://www.metricmind.com/ac_honda/main.htm did is a high end demonstration. The controller he used is no longer available. He had to engineer the entire thing along the way. The only thing that was prepackaged was the controller and the motor because they have to be precisely matched to get the full specified power output.

Answer by Wayne T
The best you can do is at your local new car lot
Doing it your self is kind of like trying to build a full size 747 from a kit in your garage.
No this is not meant to be a joke it is the truth it is extremely complex to change a car of today over that the money you will spend will far out weigh the cost of a new one.

Question by gentri r: What is the best way to convert my mustang to a ‘green car’?
It’s gasoline, right now and I’ve been wanting to convert it to a more greener car. What method would be best? Electric? I’ve looked at electric conversion kits, which seems best for me as I could more easily raise money for that then a whole new car. But I don’t have the know how to put the kit in my car, and I don’t know of anyone else around here that would know either. I live in Oklahoma, is there a place nearby that could do this for me, and if so, how much would cost?
